Housing Options/temp accommodation/homelessness officer required.
Minimum 2 years exp.
Based in London and lasting for up to three months initially, the client is keen to recruit a candidate who has performed a similar role before and has experience or knowledge in:
Allocating temporary accommodation which includes the locating and placing applicants into bed and breakfast accommodation, taking into account the needs of the family and the available accommodation.
Allocating property from the councils own stock and nominating to the various Housing Associations who provide leased property, ensuring an efficient and flexible allocation of resources to match the varying needs and demands of the clients and the service.
Responding to requests from Senior Officers within services dealing with homeless people, households with substance misuse problems, mental health difficulties and often stressed and aggressive people.
Ensuring that available properties are let and nominations made within the set times and targets and ensure applicants move promptly to and from temporary accommodation provided for them.
Carrying out unaccompanied home visits to prospective applicants when issues are raised.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in Housing Options, and must have had a DBS registered with the update service. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking employment in a fast-paced and high performing environment with strong career development opportunities.
