Context and Purpose of the Job To be responsible for the provision of comprehensive administrative support and co-ordination of the processes and statutory systems for delivery of the Council’s duties in relation to its roles as Supervisory Body as prescribed by the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Code of Practice to ensure effective application of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Process from managing authorities.
To provide an efficient and responsive first line service to Barnet’s Managing Authorities, Supervisory Bodies’ staff, Independent Mental Capacity Advocates, Person’s Representatives, and service user’s and/or their representatives by face to face, telephone, written and electronic media and manage the applications of DoLS across all partner agencies, including statutory, private and voluntary sectors.
To manage the administration and compliance with timescales of the operations of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards in Barnet, including those authorisations previously managed by Health.
To administer the recruitment of Mental Health Assessors and Best Interest Assessors and process all documentations re pre-employments checks making sure they meet the required standards, monitoring they are compliant with their training, professional indemnity cover and CRBs, setting them up as vendors, making sure contracts are in place.
To effectively manage, co-ordinate and process invoices via EBP, and create sales orders for recharging for DoLS Service and as required for Safeguarding Adults. To provide administrative support to the BIA/AMHP Manager in connection with the AMHP Service as and when required.
