Our client is looking for experienced Officer to be part of a Move-On project to create new pathways in to Housing for homeless applicants on the housing register.
The individuals need to be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of current Housing Options practice in the public sector and have extensive knowledge of homelessness legislation.
The Officers will need to be able to adapt quickly to regularly changing working practice whilst the project both moves forward and develops at the same time.
Good IT skills are important, as are resilient and advanced communication skills.
Knowledge of sales, influence and coaching are desirable, as the role will involve some difficult conversations.
Be able to Cross-check records and documentation to ensure all legal required steps have been taken prior to discharge of duty into the private sector.
Be capable of Allocating accommodation by way of matching suitable customers to property. Making the single offer to the customer in writing, advising them of the likely adverse outcome should the refuse the Councils PRS discharge offer.
Keep accurate records of all decisions made and to ensure this information stored in secure place.
Be able to liaise with the Discharge of duty Officer on potential discharge cases to minimise any potential risk of successful legal challenge.
